Subsequently, it was recognised that germline BAP1 mutations are associated with a risk of disparate cancers such as lung cancer, meningioma (14), mesothelioma (15), and renal cell carcinoma (16), with a recent pan-cancer analysis revealing that BAP1 is significantly enriched for somatic truncating mutations across a range of tumour types (17).
