Though no significant association was observed between gene expression and survival outcomes of the patients through univariate regression analysis (Supplementary Table 4), high expression of SIRT2 was associated with increased overall mortality (HR = 2.123, 95% CI 1.089 to 4.137; p = 0.027) after adjusting for gender, age, lymph node metastasis, TNM stage, EBV presence, total number of mutations and presence of common mutations (TP53, ARID1A, PIK3CA, RHOA, and KRAS) as shown in Supplementary Table 5. Here, ARID1A is linked to metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
