Tanshinone IIA, a famous Chinese drug, can ameliorate angiotensin II-induced cardiomyocyte hypertrophy by inhibiting its downstream factors c-fos and c-jun mRNA expressions and reducing protein synthesis rate of cardiomyocytes [20], which is in consistent with our findings that compared with the cardiac hypertrophy group, groups treat with tanshinone IIA had decreased swelling degree of myocardial cells and area of single myocardial cell. This evidence concerns the gene JUN and cardiac hypertrophy.
