TF and endothelial dysfunction: In particular, the symmetric dimer of DHZ, through its potent inhibitory effects on adhesion molecule and TF expression and on ROS production in endothelial cells, could be effective in contrasting the proinflammatory, prooxidant, and prothrombotic harmful mechanisms against endothelial cells thus representing a promising new medicinal compound to develop new dietary strategies for the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis and its acute events and of other inflammatory diseases where endothelial dysfunction is a key pathogenic factor.
