The results of the meta-analysis indicated that the pooled sensitivity and specificity of urine HE4 were 0.76 (95% CI, 0.72–0.80) and 0.92 (95% CI, 0.89–0.94) respectively, meaning that 76% of the ovarian cancer patients had high HE4 levels and that 92% of the non-ovarian cancer patients had low HE4 levels. This evidence concerns the gene WFDC2 and ovarian cancer.
