INS and cancer: Because obesity is an established risk factor for oncogenesis, metastasis, chemoresistance, and a poorer prognosis [36], even though the biological mechanisms underlying the relationship between obesity and cancer are complex and not well understood [37], the current study showed that obesity-induced miR-96 regulates insulin signaling, which provides novel insights into the molecular basis underlying the obesity-driven pathogenesis of insulin resistance, β-cell failure, and cancer progression.
