Subgroup analysis showed that FHIT methylation is significantly relevant to NSCLC in Asians (OR = 3.50, 95% CI: 1.50 - 8.14) but not in Caucasian population (OR = 2.55, 95% CI: 0.86 - 7.57), indicating that aberrant methylation of FHIT can be a diagnostic biomarker for NSCLC in Asian population. Here, FHIT is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
