Activation of TLR2 has been implicated in oncogenesis [45], autoimmune diseases (AD) including multiple sclerosis (MS), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Sjogren’s syndrome (SS), and Systemic sclerosis (SSc) [46], as well as in neurological dysfunction/disorders [47]. This evidence concerns the gene TLR2 and systemic sclerosis.
