Lung adenocarcinomas with activating mutations of the epidermal growth factor receptor gene (EGFR) have been reported to respond to EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) [5–7], and rearrangement of the anaplastic lymphoma kinase gene (ALK) is the best predictor of lung adenocarcinoma response to crizotinib (an ALK TKI) [8–10]. Here, ALK is linked to lung adenocarcinoma.
