To further confirm that AKT activation is required for JMJD7-PLA2G4B-mediated HNSCC cells proliferation and survival, we overexpressed the active myristalated form of AKT (Myr-AKT) in SCC23 cells knocked down with JMJD7-only or JMJD7-PLA2G4B to restore the JMJD7-PLA2G4B loss of function (Figure 4A). Here, JMJD7 is linked to head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
