During the last decade numerous ALK fusion proteins have been described in various cancers, such as inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (IMT), non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), diffuse large B cell lymphomas (DLBCL), renal cell carcinoma, breast cancer, colon carcinoma, serous ovarian carcinoma and oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma [1]. This evidence concerns the gene ALK and inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor.
