Our results corroborate other studies which have investigated the involvement of the COX-2 pathway during bacterial infection by Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Sadikot et al., 2007), Burkholderia pseudomallei (Asakrah et al., 2013), and Streptococcus pyogenes (Goldmann et al., 2010).
