Genes related to hormone receptors, including phospholipase A2 group IVA (PLA2G4A); 24-dehydrocholesterol reductase (DHCR24); cytochrome P450, family 1, subfamily B, polypeptide 1 (CYP1B1); prostaglandin E receptor 2 (PTGER2); PTGER4; hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase like 2 (HSDL2); cytochrome P450, family 11, subfamily A, polypeptide 1 (CYP11A1); superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1); and nitric oxide synthase 3 (NOS3), were significantly differentially expressed in PCOS patients compared with non-PCOS patients at baseline (Fig. 6B). This evidence concerns the gene PTGER4 and polycystic ovary syndrome.
