MICA and cervical carcinoma: A potential role of NK cells in eliminating HPV-transformed cells is supported by the observations that NKG2D-Ls expression, including ULBP1, MICA/B and ULBP2, in cervical cancer specimens was found to be an indicator of good prognosis in patients with cervical cancer, suggesting that ligand-expressing cells can be targeted by NKG2D receptor-expressing immune cells in vivo36.
