In these experiments, siRNA silencing of KIF5B, Miro1 or Miro2 all potently suppressed mitochondrial trafficking to the cortical cytoskeleton (Fig. 3i, Supplementary Fig. 6e), as well as tumour cell invasion (Supplementary Fig. 6f) induced by treatment with the small molecule PI3K inhibitor, PX-866 (ref. 14). The gene discussed is KIF5B; the disease is neoplasm.
