Numerically but not statistically significant differences between First Nations and Caucasian children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis included a later onset age (8.5 vs 5.3 years), more joint involvement (mean 16 vs 9), less frequent pauciarticular disease (29 vs 61%), less risk of uveitis (12 vs 27%), more frequent ANA+ (53 vs 29%) and more frequent HLA-B27 (31 vs 15%) [51]. This evidence concerns the gene BTG3 and uveitis.
