To analyze functional consequences of altered TRAP1 expression in cancer models, we further characterized our previous observations showing reduced protein expression and phosphorylation of p70S6K in high TRAP1 background in human colorectal cancer cells and tissues.15 PI3K/AKT/p70S6K pathway is frequently activated in human OC, in which TRAP1 has a role in response to therapy and disease progression.22 Therefore, starting from these findings, we investigated the role of TRAP1 in the regulation of the p70S6K in OC.
