Specifically, it has been shown that dysregulated signaling networks common in HNSCC include aberrant NF-κB activation, contributing to the expression of genes that can modulate apoptotic resistance and cell survival like bcl-2 [21], EGFR [22,23], STAT3 [24,25] and wnt5α [26,27]. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
