In order to have a deeper understanding of the possible mechanisms that might be responsible for the regressive effect of myricetin on hepatic steatosis, a genome-wide expression profiling in the liver tissues was performed and pathway analysis revealed that the pathways involved in hepatic lipid homeostasis, such as the PPAR signaling pathway, biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids, and the insulin signaling pathway, were all evidently affected. This evidence concerns the gene INS and fatty liver disease.
