Moreover, autoantibodies neutralizing the T helper (Th)17 cytokines interleukin (IL)‐22, IL‐17F, and IL‐17A are associated with chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis (CMC) in most patients with the rare monogenic disease autoimmune polyendocrinopathy‐candidiasis‐ectodermal dystrophy (APECED) and also in a few patients with thymic epithelial cell neoplasia 6, 7. This evidence concerns the gene IL22 and chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis.
