Taken the immunological changes described in this study, namely the decrease by HtE treatment of OVA‐IgE serum titer, IL‐13 production and consequently inhibition of mucus production as well as inhibition of migration of inflammatory cells to the lung tissues, we conclude that the plant extract is modulating type‐2 immune response characteristic of asthma. This evidence concerns the gene ACOT8 and asthma.
