Angiogenesis makes significant contribution to tumor growth, invasiveness, and metastatic potential of HCC. Differentially expressed angiogenesis genes and proteins were identified including,)platelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and its inhibitors (TIMPs), angiopoitin-1 (Ang-1) angiopoitin-2 (Ang-1) have been evaluated and found to be related to HCC tumorigenesis and prognosis [50, 51]. The gene discussed is FGF2; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
