Using data collected in the Osteoporotic Fractures in Men Study (MrOS), we evaluated the relation of 7 inflammatory markers - CRP, IL-6, IL-6 soluble receptor (IL-6SR), TNFα, TNFαSRI, and TNFαSRII as well as interleukin-10 (IL-10, anti-inflammatory), to prevalent PAD in older men and identified characteristics common to those with the highest cytokine inflammatory burden. This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and peripheral arterial disease.
