To explore the signaling pathways that may be involved in Sal effects, we next assessed whether Sal affected GSK-3β phosphorylation and tau phosphorylation in flies, as GSK-3β signal pathway exerts a crucial role in promoting neuronal survival under a variety of circumstances, while tau hyperphosphorylation and microtubule destabilization is widely acknowledged in AD [32–34]. This evidence concerns the gene GSK3B and Alzheimer disease.
