When considered in the context of the basal feeding behaviour of PWS-IC mice [19], these data suggest that Snord115 deficiency derives less functional 5-HT2CRs that are incapable of effectuating the anorectic actions of serotonin (via stimulation of downstream POMC signalling) and highlights the independent contribution of this axis to the hyperphagic nature of PWS-IC mice. This evidence concerns the gene POMC and Prader-Willi syndrome.
