In contrast, few late-type genes showed consistent survival associations in other cancer types, with the exception of epsin 3 (EPN3), which was associated with late metastatic recurrence in adjuvantly untreated and tamoxifen-treated breast cancer as well as with worse outcome in the period three years after surgery and later in two non-small cell lung cancer cohorts. Here, EPN3 is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
