In particular in a multivariate analysis, patients with a CRP > 8 mg/l were at significantly higher risk of tumor progression (HR 2.18; 95% CI 1.40–3.40; p = 0.001) and death (HR 2.0; 95% CI 1.28–3.12; p = 0.002) than patients with a CRP ≤ 8 mg/l. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is neoplasm.
