These genes included transmembrane protein 163, TMEM163, a gene coding for a transmembrane protein of unknown function; ankyrin repeat domain 11, ANKRD11, an ankyrin repeating gene implicated in autism spectrum disorder and skeletal formation; and nuclear factor of activated T cells, cytoplasmic, calcineurin-dependent 1, NFATC1, a gene reportedly involved in bone mineral density (85). This evidence concerns the gene ANKRD11 and autism spectrum disorder.
