SHBG and metabolic syndrome: In a study that was conducted by Han et al about the relationship between some metabolic syndrome factors such as FBS, TG, high-density lipid (HDL-C), BMI, age and serum PSA level (8), it was shown that in people with high BMI, sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) levels decrease, and SHBG acts as a testosterone binding protein in plasma.
