Although no significant associations were found with CRP levels, high levels of IL-6 (above 5 pg/mL) were associated with major depression during the follow-up (OR = 2.49 (1.07–5.80)) both in first and recurrent episodes (OR = 2.87 (0.75–10.9) and OR = 2.17 (0.86–5.49), respectively). Here, IL6 is linked to major depressive disorder.
