Our hypothesis that MP contain proteins actively involved in CM pathogenesis, and in endothelial damage as pointed out by the network analysis, was further confirmed by the upstream regulation analysis, through which two of the most studied molecules in CM pathogenesis, TNF and TGFβ1, were predicted to regulate the MP proteins experimentally detected as ECM-associated. The gene discussed is TGFB1; the disease is cutaneous mastocytosis.
