Information about sites of phosphorylation of TTP has emerged both from high-throughput phosphoproteomic studies of tumour cells, macrophages and other cells [28,32–34] and from focussed experiments in which epitope-tagged human or mouse TTP was stably expressed in HEK293 human kidney cells [35–37], mouse 3T3 fibroblasts, hamster kidney [38] or a mouse macrophage cell line [20]. The gene discussed is ZFP36; the disease is neoplasm.
