VEGFA and liver disorder: According to the guidelines adopted by the European Association for the Study of the Liver/European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EASL–EORTC), American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), and National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) is a fundamental therapy for these HCCs [4–6], while the combination of TACE and sorafenib has been considered to be promising [7–10], as sorafenib may control the elevation of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) caused by TACE [11].
