IFNA2 and Zika virus infectious disease: As can be observed inFigure 3, IFNα2A activity can also protect against the ZIKV cytopathic effect, which leads to cell lysis; thus, the ratio between the number of cells in treated wells and the number of cells in non-treated wells (defined as the cell ratio) increases in dose-dependent manner to the concentration of IFNα2A, indicating the interferon capacity of protecting the host cells from lysis due to ZIKV infection.
