AGT and endothelial dysfunction: In hypertensive patients (Schulz et al., 2011) and rats (Landmesser et al., 2002; Mollnau et al., 2002), nitric oxide (NO) molecules are easily diminished by angiotensin II (Ang II) mediated over production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), leading to a reduction of NO bioavailability and endothelial dysfunction.
