UCA1 and neoplasm: We focused on UCA1 because a) qRT-PCR results validating the gene array data showed that UCA1 expression was increased more than 100-fold in DU145-IRR cells compared with DU145-Parental cells (Supplementary Figure S2G), b) UCA1 is a functional lncRNA involved in several cancer-related biologic processes including tumor growth, invasion and metastasis, and drug resistance [11], and c) UCA1's potential role in conferring radioresistance has not been investigated.
