Due to the nature of our data and risk of collinearitybetween temperature and other seasonal terms, it was not possible to distinguishbetween temperature-related effects and effects due to other factors which areknown to vary by season: for example, in winter higher prevalence of influenzaor other respiratory viruses or diseases, such as rheumatic disorders, may berelevant to the CRP seasonal variation. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and rheumatic disorder.
