We previously explored the proteomic effect of antipsychotic medication (haloperidol) on the PSD using a rat model of antipsychotic drug treatment.25 Of the 26 proteins in the treatment group found to be statistically differentially expressed compared with controls, four were included in our list of significantly differentially expressed protein in the bipolar disorder PSD (P<0.05; FAM162A, MCCC1, RIN1 and mTOR), and one in our list of 288 FDR-corrected proteins in the bipolar disorder PSD (FAM162A), and also altered in the same direction. Here, MCCC1 is linked to bipolar disorder.
