Recently it was shown that the disruption of vitamin D/ERp57 pathway mimics amyloid pathology52; moreover Sugimoto et al. 53 demonstrate that Denosomin-Vitamin D3 hybrids, used as anti-Alzheimer’s disease agents, exhibit nerve re-extension activity in Aβ-damaged neurons via the ERp57 (1,25D3-MARRS) pathway. Here, PDIA3 is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
