Despite an abundance of literature demonstrating the importance of uPAR in the progression of most solid cancers, including breast, colon, prostate, pancreatic, ovarian, lung, and brain as well as several hematologic malignancies such as acute leukemia and myeloma, no uPAR targeting therapeutic agents have been developed or evaluated in cancer clinical trials to date.
