In our study, knockdown and overexpression of Prdx2 in the colon cancer cell lines SW620, HT29, and HCT116 caused lower and higher CD133+ populations, respectively, as well as concomitant decreased and increased transcription and translation levels of CD44, CD133, Lgr5 and Nanog expression, as well as sphere formation. Here, CD44 is linked to malignant colon neoplasm.
