Rajvir Dahiya and his colleagues from University of Southern California at San Francisco have recently demonstrated that genistein regulates various miRs including miR-1260b, leading to the upregulation of sFRP1 and Smad4 in PCa cell lines via DNA demethylation and histone modifications, suggesting that diet may also prompt epigenetic alterations and contribute to PCa development [86]. Here, SFRP1 is linked to posterior cortical atrophy.
