FMR1 and fragile X-associated tremor/ataxia syndrome: Our recent findings (Battistella et al. 2013) in young asymptomatic FMR1 premutation carriers at risk of developing a late-onset movement disorder called fragile X tremor–ataxia Syndrome (FXTAS), encourage further evaluation of the motor-control pathway and in particular, the thalamic ventral intermediate nucleus (Vim) that is part of this network (included in the VLV group in this study).
