In this context, the inhibitory effect of dietary GSPs on the growth of tumor xenograft was found to be associated with: (i) control of cell cycle regulation; and (ii) induction of apoptotic cell death of tumor cells, which were associated with the observation of effects on the proteins of Bcl-2 family and activation of caspase-3 in tumor xenograft samples at the termination of the animal experiments. The gene discussed is BCL2; the disease is neoplasm.
