In particular, miR-196a, the DEM that showed the highest average fold change (>2) in all three derivatives of BEAS-cells (AKT1-E17K, BEAS-PIK3CA-E545K and BEAS-shPTEN), emerges as a critical player of PI3K signaling in lung cancer, regulating several oncogenic molecular networks.
