The finding that adoptive expression of miR-196a in NSCLC cells induced a consistent down-regulation of HOXA9, suggests that miR-196a-mediated HOXA9 down-regulation contributes to the pro-migratory effects exerted by miR-196a in NSCLC cells, though we can not formally exclude that HOXA9 regulation by miR-196 may take part also to the regulation of proliferative pathways. This evidence concerns the gene HOXA9 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
