In tumors, autophagy is thought to promote tumor growth and progression by helping cells adapt to and survive in metabolically challenged harsh tumor microenvironments.24 Recently, autophagy has been demonstrated to facilitate chemoresistance in a variety of cancers.26,27 Therefore, we speculated that AQP3-induced autophagy is associated with cDDP resistance in GC cells. This evidence concerns the gene AQP3 and gastric cancer.
