Here, we report that (i) Nec‐1, a small molecule originally identified as an inhibitor of necroptosis, blocks Aβ‐induced cell death in the brain; (ii) administration of Nec‐1 ameliorates learning and memory deficits in the APP/PS1 mice; and (iii) Nec‐1 reduces amyloid plaques and oligomers as well as tau hyperphosphorylation in the cortex and hippocampus of APP/PS1 mice. This evidence concerns the gene APP and amyloidosis.
