As mentioned, MMP1, MMP13, CXCL9, CXCL10 and CXCL11 were significantly upregulated, exclusively in Lebanese tumor tissue compared to adjacent non-tumor tissue (see Supplementary Tables S1 and S2), explaining why Lebanese patients diagnosed at a younger age are prone to develop more aggressive BCs with a greater potential for metastasis associated with poor prognosis. The gene discussed is CXCL11; the disease is neoplasm.
