The presence of alpha-synuclein (α-Syn) inclusions in neurons and glia of the central nervous system is associated with a group of neurodegenerative diseases termed synucleinopathies, including Parkinson’s disease (PD), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), and multiple-system atrophy (MSA)1. This evidence concerns the gene SNCA and synucleinopathy.
