Our data show that cell detachment is not required for this virus to trigger cell death; but cell detachment upon Ad-E1A12 infection results in marked downregulation of various important players involved in cell survival such as EGFR, AKT1 and YAP1 (Figs 2 and 3), leading to rapid demise of infected epithelial cancer cells. This evidence concerns the gene YAP1 and infection.
